A Special Moment

One of the things that I truly love about of photography for me is finding that special moment. It is about searching for that unique moment in time, seeing it and experiencing it and trying to create an image to share with all of you.  This is what I feel makes my images so special, that moment, that experience of natural beauty.  This past weekend I had a few very special moments that I was fortunate enough to share with others and now share with you.  A long time friend and incredible woman Paula Scobie (now Paula Estin) and Traian Estin became husband and wife.  It was a special moment and my wife Leanne and I were so happy to share it with them as they exchanged vows at sunset just outside of Regina.  I was not the photographer as I have always told people I fear the wrath of a bride if I miss the shot far more than any tornado or bolt of lightning. During the course of the evening I noticed that the aurora was starting to pick up and of course I had most of my camera equipment with me.  I shot a few images and as the aurora intensified I went in and mention to Paula that if her and Traian wanted I could maybe try to catch a few shots with the newlyweds with the northern lights in the back ground.  We ventured out just a little ways from the hall and I was able to get a couple of cool shots with the with the lights dancing in behind them.  A unique and magical shot that really fits this incredibly unique and wonderful couple.  The lights danced and moved in the sky and as Paula said “I think Arley put a good word in for us for the weather & the northern lights  I know he was definitely smiling down on his Lil’ Bro & new Lil’ Sis”
